Celebrating Oregon's Superheroes of Health Event Wrap Up

You are here

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at Lagunitas Community Room on May 25th at our 1st Annual Celebrating Oregon’s Superheroes of Health event. A special thanks to our sponsors, Susan Matlock Jones and Kaiser Permanente. Thanks to Thin Rail who provided live music, and Oregon Deli who catered the event. It was a beautiful night to celebrate the work of young people advocating for their health in Oregon.

We are excited that it’s official, now. What was formerly known as our CORE grant program is now the ACTION (Advocating, Consent, Teaching Inclusion, Organizing for Nonviolence) program!

Funded by the EC Brown Foundation, ACTION grants provide funding to SBHCs to facilitate healthy youth programming in communities throughout the state. OSBHA is grateful to work throughout Oregon every year to provide training, technical assistance, and tools for implementations with our SBHC partners.

Our new 2017-2019 ACTION grantees are:

Columbia County: Rainer, Vernonia & Sacagawea SBHCs

Multnomah County: Centennial & Roosevelt SBHCs

Umatilla County: Pendleton SBHC

Virginia Garcia/Washington County: Forest Grove and Tigard SBHCs

We were also pleased to announce our newest Statewide Youth Action Council members. Be on the lookout for their photos on bios on our SYAC page in the coming weeks.
