Attention: youth-serving providers! We hope you will join us for a free Eye to Eye training in Prineville, Oregon on January 14.Eye to Eye is a youth-led training designed to shift provider’s approaches to relationships, connections, and power dynamics with youth. This January, we will present our Eye to Eye training with a focus on HPV.
Eye to Eye training is provided by members of the Oregon School-Based Health Alliance (OSBHA) Student Health Advocate group with guidance from our staff. Developed in 2014, Eye to Eye has been highly rated by CCO healthcare providers. The training gives providers an opportunity to move past theory and into practice by actively engaging in discussion and healthcare exchange roleplays. Youth trainers will guide participants through activities designed to shine a light on unconscious bias, and demonstrate how to engage and communicate effectively with youth.
This interactive youth-led training will give you tools to:
+ Increase HPV inoculation at your clinic
+ Support students in developing healthy relationships
+ Learn to identify biases & take action to better communicate with all youth
Participating providers will:
+ Better understand how to have effective conversations about HPV with youth
+ Understand the importance of confidentiality in a youth/adult mentor relationship
+ Learn to develop a stronger rapport with youth
+ Identify and understand biases and their impact on youth
+ Understand how minor consent laws shape treatment provision
