  1. Think of the school year as a sports game like basketball or football. You're in the 4th quarter and it's a super close game. Are you going to give up and slack off? No, it’s extremely important that you muster up your remaining energy and strength to give your all into winning and or finishing in a way that would make yourself and others proud.
  2. Stay positive! The end of the school year shouldn’t be thought of as any different than other parts of the school year. At the end of the day it’s still school and you have to motivate yourself to stay focused and positive to ensure a successful outcome.
  3. Set goals for yourself. Setting goals is a great way to keep yourself motivated to stay on track. The more you meet your goals the more accomplished you feel.
  4. Take care of yourself. As previously mentioned, it is super easy to get caught up in the midst of just trying to get through the school year. Make sure you’re getting at least 8-9 hours of sleep every night, eating healthy foods, and exercising. All these things will allow you remain focused which will aid you in finishing the school year strong.
  5. Remind yourself of how hard you’ve worked throughout the year. Reflecting on your past and remembering how well you did can motivate you to keep up that same energy.
  6. Think of the school year like a 100 meter dash. You do not want to slow down when you near the finish or else you will lose the race!
  7. Go outside! At this this time of the year the sun is out. Take advantage of the nice weather and go do something with friends or family. It is very important to take breaks from your work sometimes and get a breath of fresh air.
  8. Remember that if you finish strong it’ll feel very rewarding going into summer break. Nobody wants to be stressed out about low grades and thinking about the ‘what ifs’ when they’re entering the summer.

Yes, finishing strong can be tough and mentally draining but that doesn’t mean it is not doable. Keeping these tips in mind can help an individual maintain healthy relationships, stay motivated, and push themselves to work hard till summer vacation. Always remember that students everywhere start to feel sluggish towards the end of the year and that you are not the only one. Use this as an opportunity to support your peers as well. It is a hectic time for us all but you don’t have to go through it alone.
