A Message From Our Executive Director

A Message From Our Executive Director
Hello OSBHA supporters,
As I began to write this letter, Governor Brown issued her Stay Home, Save Lives order, and the impact of COVID-19 grew stronger. We are all challenged by school and business closures, risk to our health, and many unknowns. OSBHA remains committed to supporting the health and academic success of young people, and we are modifying our work to best support our mission. Our staff are currently working from home. We are in touch and coordinating with the Oregon Health Authority, national School-Based Health Alliance and other affiliates about ways to advocate for and support youth impacted by school closures.
Our Student Health Advocates are actively working on healthy relationship, HPV prevention, youth-adult partnership, and policy projects using virtual platforms. We also are continuing to provide technical assistance and consultation for some sites doing school health planning grant assessments; and we’re modifying YAC coaching and ACTION grant projects.
So we’re here, available, and are flexing how we work to fit the current reality. We look forward to a return to regular operations and regular life. Until then, please take good care of yourselves and those closest to you. And don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you need advocacy or other support.
