OSBHA has evolved from a volunteer organization with a singular focus on creating more school-based health centers to an organization that addresses systemic inequites from multiple angles. We have delivered impacts that can be seen and felt in communities across the state, big or small. We are having an impact on health in every corner of Oregon. We have seen a significant rise in visits to school-based health clinics for physical and mental health needs because of a lack of accessible, timely, and youth-friendly health services across the state.
OSBHA and its members are at the forefront of healthcare for youth across Oregon. Starting with eight clinics in 1986, today, there are 85 clinics across Oregon. On average, these clinics serve more than 40,000 annually. By far, most visits are by youth: 65% are youth 5 - 21.
