Oregon School-Based Health Alliance (OSBHA) is partnering with the Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families to host the Joining Our Youth (JOY): A School Health Services Conference at Oregon State University (OSU).JOY will bring together 200 youth, educators, and practitioners from throughout the state to empower diverse and skilled youth who play a critical role in promoting health services for young people. The conference will feature the work of approximately 30 active youth leaders ages 15-24 who will discuss relevant policies responsive to rural, urban, and suburban community needs. The conference will provide hands-on interactive opportunities for youth and adults alike to engage in authentic youth-adult partnerships and aims to highlight the impact of school-based health centers and other critical school health services.
JOY will cover topics ranging from youth engagement and empowerment, policy and sustainability, culturally responsive clinical approaches to child and adolescent care, and cross-sector partnerships to ensure participants leave with the tools and inspiration to collaboratively and effectively enhance their systems in an equitable manner.
